We have our regularly scheduled DC407 monthly in-person meeting on next Tuesday, October 29, 2024 at 7PM at Colo Solutions !! Feel free to dress up in costume (but this is completely optional).

We are planning on watching (we pick as a group) one or more of the DEFCON videos. We will have some treats!!

What: General Meeting

Hey peoples, tomorrow is security night. Willa will bring lock stuffs, but we won’t have a full TOOOL meeting; those have been moved to their own super special place and time.

If there’s something specific you want to hack at security night please BRING IT. Otherwise we will have some impromptu demos and maybe some VM hacking.

So to review:

• Bring your laptop and whatever toolchain you like most.
• Bring your lockpicking stuff and any bypass gear you have.
• Hack all the things, drink all the Bawls

If you have any trouble getting in the building please contact us on the FamiLAB Slack on the #security channel or ring the doorbell.

What: General Meeting, Lockpicking, Art of Exploitation Workshop #1 (Kickoff & 0x100)

We’re going to give Art of Exploitation a shot as a continuing workshop. Essentially we’ll expect everyone to have read through and worked through a chapter each month. For the first meeting we’ll just be going over chapter 0x100 which is the introduction. If this sucks, we’ll quit doing it. If you like the workshop, that’s great — we’ll keep it running. If you can’t afford the book and still want to follow along definitely check your local library, contact No Starch Press (there’s usually coupons), or ask around — someone is bound to have a spare. Many of us picked up the PDF during the Hacking Humble Bundle and may also own the hardcopy.
